This is a mock-up I did for the opening title sequence, for the Flapjack pilot (which hasnt aired). The network didnt want to do an opening title sequence for a pilot, so I stayed up all night making this mock-up and writing the song, to try to talk em into it. It worked!
I spent 2 or three months of 16-18 hour days building the opening title sequence (with no pay). An amazing stopmotion studio called Screen Novelties helped me animate it. I love them. Dan Cantrell helped me with the music. I love him. We were all super-proud of it. Then the studio made us cut the length in half. And thats the one you see today
Its probably better to have a short one, but I always feel like its missing something. We even showed how Flap and Bubbie came across captain Knuckles
Bubbie: One evening as the sun went down, And the peaceful sea surrounding
Flapjack: Up came a pirate splashin And he said
Knuckles: Hey, Im not drowning! Im headed for a land thats far away Where adventure waits on dry-land So come with me, well go an see A place called Candied Island
Bubbie: Who needs Candied Island? Its safer at the Docks
Knuckles: But there aint no streams of sodey-pop, Ta go tricklin down the rocks
Bubbie: Its dangerous and risky!
Knuckles: But adventurous and free!
Flapjack: Adventure, thats the life for me!
Knuckles: Theres Lollipop trees and a lemonade sea!
Bubbie: Doesn't sound very good to me...
Chorus: The Misadventures of Flapjack!!!
